  21. It's a physical CHIP replacement.

  23. The V.34 Sportsters do not use flash rom technology.

  25. Upgrading your modem will not net you any performance improvement
  26. unless your host provider offers it (33.6) as well, and even
  27. then it's quite "iffy". Some report improvements and some don't.

  29. I'm also unsure that USR's 33.6 firmware microcode has yet been approved
  30. for use in .au  =  There currently seems to be some major flap about the
  31. Courier flash code for 33.6 being publicly posted on USR's support bbs
  32. in the US, so it's been removed.  Owners of US/domestic Couriers can
  33. still obtain it, but it requires calling into a dialback system which is
  34. apparently intended to ensure the code only goes to US/domestic
  35. locations.
